My name is Nicholas Bleuel, I am from Louisville, Kentucky. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2021. Majoring in Visual Studies and minoring in Animation.
I am heavily influenced in Japanese style art, and I try to reflect that in my own pieces. Even while I'm influenced by it, it does not limit me or my creativity to make other pieces.
"There's no advantage to hurrying through life." - Masashi Kishimoto
As an Artist, I've been inspired by many things in life and I try to show those influences in my artwork. A major influence is Japanese culture, many of my pieces convey my love of Japan. Ranging from traditional Japanese to modern, I try not to limit myself in the sense that I try to work with multiple artforms and methods. My first exposure to art was anime and it helped me through some tough times as a kid, and as a animator I want to be able to inspire others and help kids express themselves and get them through those rough times that they might be experiencing.
When looking at my illustrations, I try to make something that can stand out and alone as well as be combined with another and tell a story. In many of my Japanese inspired art, I try to take a traditional piece and re-invent it and break it by incorporating a modern twist. Like all my pieces I like to have "versatility" to my pieces, and what I mean by that is that I want to make art that can be used across all platforms of art from fine art, animation, tattoo art and graphic design.
As an artist I never want to limit myself and continue to grow. That being said I want to be able to bring the joy of Japanese art and anime to people and inspire them.
